Balough Moderates Legal Panel on Commercial Drone Use
What should business lawyers tell clients who want to use drones in their business? This emerging legal issue was discussed by a panel moderated by Richard C. Balough at the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section annual meeting.
The legal status of commercial drones is open for debate as businesses attempt to use the unmanned vehicles and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) works to develop regulations regarding their use.
The panel brought together experts in the commercial drone field, including a representative of the FAA. Panelists included Guy Fraker, president of the Heartland Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International; Mark Bury, Assistant Chief Counsel for International Law, Legislation and Regulations at the FAA; Henry H. Perritt Jr., Professor of Law at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law; Christine N. Walz of Holland & Knight; and Brendan Schulman of Kramer Levin.
